For close inshore diving we can take up to 12 divers, further afield we drop this down to 1o and technical diving groups with multiple stage cylinders and long distance trips would be max 8. With our cruising speed around 20knots we can quickly reach our dive sites, with the hull design there is no roll meaning we have a very stable platform. For longer day trips we prefer to stop in the isles for some time ashore. Otherwise for close trips inshore we come back to the marina to relax for lunch.

Owner Shane Wasik, is the main skipper aboard Cearban. Unlike many dive boat skippers he has many years diving experience with over 2000 dives. His qualifications include BSAC First Class Diver and Advanced Instructor, TDI Rebreather & Trimix Diver, HSE IV Commercial & Scientific Diver, as well as a qualified Marine Biologist and well published underwater photographer. Spending much of his diving career in the local waters, he has an intimate knowledge of the dive sites, marine life and photographic opportunities available.

Location 

We are based from Oban town centre and pick at the transit marina. Parking is available nearby, trolleys are available for carry gears along with toilets & showers. Oban town has extensive shops, restaurants and bars along with everything from hostels to hotels.

Oban is much closer than you think! Just a couple of hours drive from Glasgow and 2 1/2hrs from Edinburgh. Combined with our speed, the location means there is far less travelling and time required for your dive trip. For those travelling from further afield we can arrange longer itineraries to make sure you make the best of your trip.

Accommodation

Oban has a wealth of accommodation, ranging from hostels, B&B, hotels and camping. There are plenty pubs and restaurants and a busy place during summer. We’d advise you to book early to accommodate larger groups.

Air Fills & Gear Hire

We have limited scuba gear hire available (BCDs, Regs, Suits, Tanks, Weights, Basic Gear). Air Fills & Nitrox is available is also available from Puffin Dive Centre south of Oban central.
